Fernandes joins the Champion

The Point Guard of the Portuguese National Team joined the league Champion Benfica Lisboa for the 2013-2014 season. The experienced Fernandes should lead them to another Championship during that season.

Benfica started to build their roster for the next season. The LPB champions started off with signing of Mario Fernandes. The guard started the previous season with Jamtland in Sweden. He tallied 7.5 points, 3.3 assists and 2.2 rebounds per game in Basketligan. Later Mario returned to Portugal to pen deal with Academica Coimbra. He notched 13.5 points, 5.6 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 1.2 steals per appearance in LPB. He was named All-Portuguese League Guard of the Year in 2012 and 2013.
