First pro contract for Donte Pope to play in Luxembourg

We are proud to announce that our client, Donte Pope, has signed with Black Star Mersch in Luxembourg’s Nationale 2. The American guard made an immediate impact in his debut, scoring 29 points, along with 7 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1 steal in a strong win over Avanti Mondorf, helping Mersch start their campaign on a high note.

Standing at 196 cm (6′5″) and playing both the shooting guard and point guard positions, Donte brings athleticism, scoring ability, and two-way versatility to the team.

The 23-year-old joins Mersch following an impressive college career, split between Franklin Pierce University (NCAA II) and Emmanuel College (NCAA III). In his final collegiate season with Franklin Pierce, he averaged 20.5 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.2 steals per game, shooting 48.2% from the field, 37.6% from three, and 78.9% from the free-throw line. The year before, at Emmanuel College, he posted 17.9 points, 9.1 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 0.9 steals per game, while maintaining strong efficiency with 50.4% FG and 37.8% 3PT shooting (heinrich-sports.com).

A two-time All-GNAC Second Team selection and GNAC Regular Season Champion in 2023, Donte has consistently proven himself as an elite scorer and competitor at every level. His scoring instincts, physicality, and defensive intensity make him a key addition to Black Star Mersch’s roster as the club aims to achieve its clear objective this season: promotion to the Total League.
