We are proud to announce that Quashawn Lane, has signed with ETB Miners Essen for the upcoming 2025/26 season in Germany’s ProB. This move marks the next important step in Quashawn’s professional career, following an impressive rookie season in Germany’s ProA with Baskets Paderborn followed by stops in New Zealand and Ireland. Quashawn Lane, a 6’2” (188 cm) Point Guard has consistently proven himself as a high-level floor general, combining leadership, scoring efficiency, and defensive tenacity. After a standout collegiate career at the University of New Haven (NCAA Division II), where he amassed 1,586 career points, 489 assists, 472 rebounds, and 189 steals, Quashawn’s impact extended beyond statistics. He was a three-time NE10 Defensive Player of the Year, a two-time All-Conference First Team selection, and was named to the NABC East All-District First Team and D2CCA All-East Region First Team in 2023. His senior year was particularly notable, where he averaged 14.9 points, 4.2 assists, and 4.2 rebounds per game, while shooting an impressive 53% from the field and 85% from the free-throw line. Lane′s ability to control the tempo, distribute the ball effectively, and lock down defensively made him one of the most complete point guards at the D2 level. In his first professional season with Paderborn, Quashawn quickly adapted to the European game. Over the 2023–24 ProA season, he averaged 10.3 points, 5.8 assists, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.1 steals per game, while maintaining efficient shooting splits of 45.6% from the field and 30.6% from three-point range. His calm decision-making and reliability under pressure earned him recognition as one of the top young playmakers in the league. Following his season in Germany, Quashawn took his talents to New Zealand, where he suited up for the Manawatu Jets in the NZ NBL. In a brief but impactful stint, he showcased his playmaking skills and versatility, adapting seamlessly to the league’s fast-paced, athletic style of play. After completing his season in New Zealand Quashawn moved to Ireland to play his second season in Europe and he finished the season with 15.4 Points, 4.2 Rebounds and 2.8 Assists per game. The move to ETB Miners Essen is a logical next step in his career. The Miners are a club with ambition, tradition, and a clear plan for growth in the ProB. The opportunity to take on a leading role within the team’s backcourt rotation aligns perfectly with Quashawn’s desire to continue developing his game while contributing to a competitive program. For Quashawn, this is not just a continuation of his professional journey but also a chance to establish himself as a cornerstone player in Europe. His work ethic, combined with his high-level basketball IQ and two-way skill set, makes him an ideal fit for the challenges and expectations in Essen. We are excited about the next chapter and confident that Quashawn will make a significant impact in the ProB, both as a leader on the court and as a professional representing ETB Miners Essen with pride and determination. « back |
