This weekend there was the Cup Final 4 of the Austrian league and the Klosterneuburg Dukes have won the third consecutive title in Austria after winning the Championship and the Supercup.
This
weekend the Cup Final 4 took place in Oberwart and Jason Chappell’s Klosterneuburg Dukes faced WBC Raiffeisen Wels in the Semifinal. They were able
to beat the team from Wels 85:77. The American Insideplayer finished with 16
Points, 4 Rebounds, 2 Assists and 1 Block in almost 28 Minutes. The second
Finalist was Ian Boylan’s BC Zepter Vienna. They were able to beat the host
from Oberwart with 77:73 in the first semifinal. Boylan returned to the team
after a minor injury and he played 33 minutes off the bench. He finished the
game with 13 Points, 5 Rebounds and 3 Assists.
In
yesterday’s Final Chappell and his Dukes were able to outscore Boylan and his
BC Vienna with 85:77. The game was close until the middle of the third quarter
until the Dukes used their longer bench and they build a 18 point lead, which
was too much for BC Vienna and the Klosterneuburg Dukes celebrated their third
title in row. Boylan finished 9 Points, 3 Rebounds, 4 Assists, 1 Steal and 2
Block and Chappell ended the game with 9 Points, 8 Rebounds, 1 Steal and the
Cup title.
